With its ideal proportions,unusual details, and old paint,this stool is at the top of its genre, It also is esthetically pleasing! Legs are beveled,an unusual bonus for what is usually considered, a primtive,working stool.Strong remnants of original red paint are evident on the legs, while the seat, is round, slightly tapered inward at the base and has a solid amount of 2nd + 3rd coats of honest,old, shades of blue paint.Leg, seat construction is a sturdy, mortise and tenon. Measurements:Top of seat to floor:15"H. Seat Circumference:10"W. Seat: 1"H.Wood: probably maple. 2 legs have a slight give to them and would probably need a scant coat of glue to firm them up. A no apologies piece, displaying refined, workmanship qualities, one would not expect to see on a stool that saw daily, hard use in a barn. * SOLD *
